AAID among the Key participants in the National Aviation Safety Summit 2025 hosted by KCAA at Eka Hotel, Nairobi

The Aircraft Accident Investigation Department (AAID) participates in the National Aviation Safety Summit 2025, hosted by the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) at Eka Hotel in Nairobi. The summit, taking place on June 10–11, 2025, brings together various aviation stakeholders to discuss and shape safety policies, runway risk mitigation and competency-based training.

The AAID's involvement underscores its commitment to enhancing aviation safety through professional and impartial investigations, in line with its mission and vision.

In previous years, the AAID has actively participated in similar events. For instance, during the National Aviation Safety Summit held in June 2024, the AAID signed a Memorandum of Understanding with KCAA, marking a significant step in enhancing collaboration to improve aviation safety.

The summit brought together a wide range of participants, including representatives from the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Eastern and Southern Africa Regional Office, Airbus, the Kenya Airports Authority, and numerous other key players in the aviation industry.

Key discussions at the summit centred on advancing aviation safety by revising existing safety policies, addressing runway safety risks, and promoting competency-based training. The overarching goal was to develop collaborative strategies that reinforce and elevate safety standards throughout the aviation sector.
