The AAID releases a preliminary investigation report on the accident involving an Airbus AS 350 B3 ,Registration 5Y-DSB operated by Youth Aviation
On 28 February 2026 at approximately 4:26 PM, a Youth Aviation helicopter, an Airbus AS350 B3 (registration 5Y-DSB), crashed in the forested and hilly terrain of Chepkiep Village in Mosop Sub-County, Nandi County, while en route after departing from Endebess. The accident resulted in the deaths of all six occupants on board, and the aircraft was destroyed.
The Aircraft Accident Investigation Department (AAID) immediately dispatched investigators to the accident site and, in accordance with ICAO Annex 13 protocols, notified the Bureau d’Enquêtes et d’Analyses (BEA) as the authority representing the State of Design and Manufacture of the aircraft and its engines and ICAO.

The investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing, and further updates will be issued by the AAID as the investigation progresses pursuant to Civil Aviation (Aircraft Accident and Incident Investigation) Regulations, 2024.
