Accident Involving Airbus AS350 B3 Helicopter Registration 5Y-DSB

The Aircraft Accident Investigation Department (AAID) has launched an investigation into Saturday’s crash involving an Airbus AS350 B3 Helicopter, registration 5Y-DSB, operated by Youth Aviation Limited.

The aircraft went down in the Chepkiep area of Mosop Sub-County, Nandi County at 4:26 PM local time. 

First responders accessed the crash site and found the helicopter ablaze. Tragically, all the six (6) on board the helicopter were found to have suffered fatal injuries. The helicopter was destroyed by the impact on contact with the terrain and the ensuing fire. 

In accordance with the provisions of Annex 13 to the Convention on International Civil Aviation organization (ICAO), investigators from the AAID were deployed to the accident site to commence a comprehensive on-site investigation into the circumstances surrounding this tragic event.
