Incident Involving Cessna 152 Aircraft, Registration 5Y-CDW, in the Suswa–Ngong Area.
The Aircraft Accident Investigation Department (AAID) was notified of a serious incident involving a Cessna 152 aircraft, registration 5Y-CDW, operated by Flight Training Centre, which occurred on the afternoon of 29th July 2025 in the Suswa–Ngong area.
Preliminary information indicates that the aircraft was climbing to 7,500 feet en route to Wilson Airport when it experienced a loss of engine power. In response, the pilot-in-command initiated an emergency landing, during which the aircraft overturned upon touchdown. The aircraft sustained significant damage to the tail and wings. There were two occupants on board (an instructor pilot and a student pilot), both of whom safely exited the aircraft without sustaining any injuries.
An investigative team from the AAID was swiftly mobilised to the location and has commenced a comprehensive investigation into the incident.
