Runway Excursion involving Aircraft Registration 5Y-BRJ at Coulson's Airstrip,Gilgil,Nakuru County
On 19 April 2026, the Aircraft Accident Investigation Department (AAID) was notified of a serious incident at Coulson’s Airstrip in Gilgil, Nakuru County, involving aircraft registration 5Y-BRJ. The aircraft, a Piper PA-32, was involved in a runway excursion during landing. There were two persons on board, both of whom safely disembarked without sustaining any injuries.
AAID investigators were promptly deployed to the site to initiate investigations into the circumstances surrounding the occurrence. In accordance with Annex 13 to the Convention on International Civil Aviation, the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) of the United States has been duly notified as the authority representing the State of Design and Manufacture of the aircraft and its engines.
