The AAID releases a preliminary investigation report on the accident involving a De Havilland DHC-DASH -8-106 ,Registration 5Y-BXI operated by Aircraft Leasing Services (ALS)

On 20 March at approximately 2058 hrs, a runway excursion occurred at Wilson Airport involving a DHC Dash 8-106 aircraft, registration 5Y-BXI, operated by ALS Limited. All occupants were safely evacuated with no injuries reported.

The Aircraft Accident Investigation Department (AAID) deployed investigators to the site and, in accordance with ICAO Annex 13, notified the Transport Safety Board of Canada and the International Civil Aviation Organization as the investigation commenced.

The investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing, and the Aircraft Accident Investigation Department (AAID) will issue further updates as it progresses, in accordance with the Civil Aviation (Aircraft Accident and Incident Investigation) Regulations, 2024.
